President Hegarty Testifies on Capitol Hill -- September 2013
On September 26, 2013, President Hegarty testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs. In testimony, Hegarty highlighted the Mail Handlers ongoing contributions to the financial turnaround of the Postal Service noting all postal employees have contributed to the rejuvenation of the Postal Service. President Hegarty went on to address many aspects of pending legislation and most notably, the Postal Service’s proposals to change its retirement and health insurance programs.
